Human Physiology & Anatomy
Students will show competency in all of the standards. To do this, students will produce artifacts for the teacher including (but absolutely not limited to) written work, projects, lab activities, quiz or test scores, interviews, job shadow, etc. Practice (sometimes referred to as homework) will receive feedback but will not be graded.
- Review basic biological principles of cells and cellular activities and the interrelationships between different levels of organization (molecules-organelles-cells-tissues-organs-organ systems).
- Develop a vocabulary of appropriate terminology to effectively communicate information related to anatomy and physiology.
- Recognize and explain the principle of homeostasis and the use of feedback loops to control physiological systems in the human body.
- Use anatomical knowledge to predict physiological consequences, and use knowledge of function to predict the features of anatomical structures.
- For each body system, identify and locate major structures and describe their functions.
