Semester exams opt-out information
Opt-Out Eligibility Requirements
If a student is eligible to opt-out of a semester test, they can begin pick up an opt-out form in the office starting Monday, . Students must do the following in order to opt out of a test:
- If a student had no Ds or Fs, he or she can drop ONE semester test per semester if he or she has a B+ or better in that class (87%) for the semester grade.
- A student can NOT drop the same class’ semester test two semesters in a row. Example: If a student drops the Spanish 1 test this semester, they may NOT drop it in the spring.
- If the student’s name is NOT on the ineligible opt-out list, then they will ask teachers to see if they have a B+ or better in any class.
If a student is eligible to opt-out of a semester test, they can begin pick up an opt-out form in the office starting Monday, . Students must do the following in order to opt out of a test:
- Ask the teacher if they have an 87% average in the class through the last grade reporting period, Date
- Pick up an opt-out form from the office
- The student must sign the form
- Discuss opt-out options with a parent to decide which test is the best to drop AND have a parent sign the opt-out form
- Bring the form to the teacher whose test they would like to drop
- Have the teacher sign the form
